Anyone who does not know which car they should buy will find the whole car buying process a bit daunting. Finding advice will not be the difficult part but the problem will actually be which advice can you trust? Even well meaning people offering advice could be giving you bad advice.

Just because a new car has been the ideal choice for someone that you know, it does not mean that it will be the best car that you can choose. It can be difficult but here are a few ideas about how to get advice you can trust about new cars.

- Your friends and family will more than likely have a lot to say about the type of car that you should buy. The problem with this is that often the advice they are giving is misleading although sometimes they do give good advice. These people don’t set out to mislead us, but they may not have enough knowledge about the subject to be offering advice.

You should certainly listen to what these people have to say but I’d avoid making any decisions based purely on this.

- When it comes to finding information on new cars, you will probably notice that there are a lot of articles etc on the internet. The problem is that a lot of this information is inaccurate and in a lot of instances might involve a deliberate attempt to deceive you. The arrival of the web means that anybody can write about anything and this is not always a good thing if you are looking for accurate information.

You need to stick with reputable websites when looking for information but you will still have to be careful.

- Advice from someone who is trying to sell you something cannot really be relied upon. If you can get advice from an independent expert who won’t gain from your decision then this is the best advice there is.

On the lookout for for great cars, then Mitsubishi are your ultimate choice for your dream vehicle

What is it about cars that makes everyone want to drive the nicest and most expensive models that they can lay their hands on? Perhaps it is because people are aware that the car they drive will influence the opinion that the people they meet will come to about them. This is particularly true for sales persons and executives who have face to face interactions with perspective clientelle, they need to ensure that image they convey is the image that is going to land them the job.

Ok, we know that the image that a car portrays is important, but there are also other factors that should really be considered before deciding on a make and model for your new vehicle. Safety could be a big issue if you plan to use the car for personal use on the evenings and weekend, and the standards can vary greatly from one car to the next. Also you should probably look at fuel economy if you have to pay for any petrol or diesel that you use outside business hours. Size is also a factor, if you have three kids and a dog, then the chances are that a two seater sports car is going to cause a few problems.

Leasing vehicles by way of contract hire is an increasingly popular method of sourcing fleet vehicles, this is probably due to the fact that most businesses prefer the certainty that a fixed monthly bill per car brings, because the leased cars are always brand new, and are changed every few years, they are constantly covered by a manufacturers warranty, meaning the company is not exposed to any additional motoring costs like expensive garage repair bills.

When you lease a car you should not expect to have your options limited, in fact a good leasing company will offer more choice than a dealership would, and not less. This is because where a dealership would normally only sell one make of car, a leasing company will be able to source just about any make and model you care to think of. Also as the leasing company will normally buy the car especially for your lease you get to decide every last detail down to what colour bodywork and engine size the car should have.

Leasing is not only available to business customers, in fact members of the general public are now coming to understand the benefits of leasing just as businesses have done for a while. Perhaps the current economic climate has helped to bolster this trend, but it seems that more and more people are reluctant to burden themselves with a huge debt to buy a car that will, by the time they have finished paying for it, be next to worthless.

For car leasing quotations which are unbeatable contact Lease4less, the contract hire specialist.

Hyundai is known for its practical and functional car and the 2010 Elantra is a great example of that. This car offers superior fuel economy, a spacious trunk and lots of passenger space. It’s a great practical car if you are cost conscious and want a car with great gas mileage; this is a car that blends in with the crowd and offers practicality and functionality. The styling of the Elantra is simple, clean and it doesn’t try to portray to be something it’s not; it’s simply a fuel efficient car perfect for getting around.

One of the best things about the 2010 Elantra is the increased gas mileage, the 2010 model is much more efficient than its predecessor . The updated version utilizes a 2.0 Liter 4 cylinder with 138 HP. It goes from 0-60 in around 8.4 seconds, which is not so bad when you consider its low price point. The new design change includes an alternator management system and internal parts which produce a lower amount of friction.

The Elantra is available for sale in three separate trim models; the base model which is called “Blue”, GLS and SE. The Elantra Blue gets a respectable 26 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. The Blue version includes heated mirrors, keyless entry, and power windows. Air conditioning and a stereo is not available with the base model but both of those elements are available as an option. The GLS version includes AC, an upgraded sound system and a cruise control system. The SE version includes leather trim, sixteen inch wheels and control knobs for the stereo system on the steering wheel.

Even though the car is low priced, the interior is well designed, spacious and offers plenty of thoughtful amenities. The dash is well engineered and there is blue ambient lighting in place which gives the car a luxurious touch. The trunk is 14 cubic feet and the rear seats can be in case you need extra storage space. Standard safety features on the Elantra include a front and side curtain air bag system, anti-lock brakes and front head restraints. A traction control system and brake assist is available with the SE model.

The 2010 Elantra is a wise choice if you are looking for a no-nonsense car that will get you from one place to another. This car will appeal to buyers who are looking for a reliable and practical car to get them around; they aren’t looking for flash, glitz, glamour, phenomenal speed or an immense amount of power. However, the Elantra is an affordable priced car that gets the job done. The starting cost for the 2010 Elantra is around $14k which is a great price for a brand new car!

Only the perfection driven minds at Mercedes Benz could conceive of such a project, much less carry it through to completion. Build a vehicle that has to carry a super-racing car to events all over Europe, and turn it in to the swiftest and the most desirable transporter anyone has ever seen. However, what could have made the company invest so much money and effort in designing something that will not even have any direct commercial value to them? Would not have any large van have fitted the bill?

The tale of the formation of the transporter is one of pride, commitment, and common sense. Before World War I began, Mercedes Benz and the remaining racing teams of Germany were caught in a bitter competition. But Mercedes gained the leading edge when its V-12 driven W-154 grabbed 12 of the 17 events held before the war to its name. Resulting from a decision that was taken in 1952, Mercedes came back to the game of Grand Prix racing in the season of 1954.

Mercedes thus built a special carrier for its W-196, a new breed of racing cars to have a celebrated Argentine racer behind its wheels. The haulier had to be such that it could be easily recognized on the road as being made by Benz and also it had to be really unique. They designed it to be one of the fastest cars on the Western European freeways of the time as well.

You gained a lot of bonus time for prep run-throughs and practice detailing if you reached the racetracks first. This also implied that if a racer needed to be repaired, it could be sent to the plants and brought back to the racetracks well in time. Technically, Mercedes Benz put in the best of their machinery in to the transporter. The X-frame of the 300 S sedan got modified to give the transporter its frame, and the 3.0 liter, 6-cylinder engine of the 300 SL sports car’s along with their four speed manual transmission , was installed under the hood. The braking system was one of power-assistance being provided to the regular hydraulic drums that were used.

However, the transporter’s most unique aspect was the grand framework. Many of the steel panels were based on, or modified from models that existed at the time. Also, the majority of the interior finishing was improved versions of the ones in the 180 S, as were the doors and the windshield. Between its two fenders, the one up front and the one in the rear, there was enough space for two spare tires, loading ramps, tools and all the equipment for the racer.

The cab was positioned way too much in the front, far ahead of the front axle, and that too precariously low, but it looked distinctively Mercedes. The paint job of clean, factory blue made it more than just a short-time success. Even when it was fully loaded with 6,600 pounds, it could go beyond 100 mph, a speed that is fast even in today’s age.

The transporter took to the road in mid-1954 and was an immediate hit at tracks in Europe as well as North America. In fact, at times, it attracted more crowds than the racing cars that it actually carried. Mercedes Benz withdrew from racing following the tragic events of the 1955 French 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race after a privately entered Mercedes Benz 300 SLR crashed, killing 80 people. Till the autumn of the same year, all of the racing division had been retired , including the transporter.

The company scrapped the vehicle altogether because even the scheme of preserving it in their museum turned out to be infeasible as the total weight was more than the floors could take. In the light of frequent inquiries and requests, Mercedes Benz had to start designing a replica of it in 1993. With the assistance of a few draft plans, an outside fabricator, and a few photographs, the company came out with the replica in 2000. Now, this amazing vehicle by Mercedes Benz does not have to sink in to fameless oblivion , and shall ever be retained in racing car history in the form of the replica.

The entire marketplace of vehicles is quite vast and often creates a great deal of confusion and stress for those that are considering purchasing one. Those that are considering purchasing a car of any type are often overwhelmed at the amount of options there are as well as the various means in finding one that suits your needs . With this being the case, one should be well versed in selecting a used SUV Auburn in order to make a more informed and solid decision overall.

This genre of vehicle is incredibly popular which has exploded throughout the past several years. For those that own them, they often love the abilities of similar performances of trucks as well as the large cargo space that is often needed from larger cars as well. In such, they often provide what many consider an ideal offering of performance and function.

In Auburn, there are now an amazing number of methods in which one is able to find one that suits their needs. There are not only dealers that have a wide array of them, but also often countless individuals that are attempting to sell their as well. Truly, all that is required to make this process a success is being able to understand what to consider when a potential one is found.

One of the first things to look for is the overall condition of the exterior body. Within this process, one is looking for obvious and large dents and areas of damage that all create an aesthetic that is unattractive . Thus, perform a thorough exterior inspection in this entire process.

The interior should also be inspected. Avoid buying one that has an over abundance of large rips, cracks, and stains as this is often a sign of severe neglect. It should still actually be in decent shape.

Most people actually neglect to check the tires of the used SUV being considered. This is important in that they are often very expensive to replace on this type of vehicle and if they are in good shape, it is usually a great indicator that the previous owner maintained it. If they worn down, be sure this is negotiated in with the price of the vehicle.

The motor and transmission should also be inspected. Basically, one should listen for any obvious signs of strain or neglect as well as gear shifting difficulties. If possible, have your mechanic inspect it prior to purchase.

As a family, we love to drive off and go camping for weekends, or weeks at a time. We mostly keep it really simple, a tent, sleeping bags and a car full of provisions. Last year though, for a change, we decided to rent a caravan and do it that way. Not having a towbar on the jeep, I clearly needed to get one installed.

So I made my way down to All Vehicle Accessories (AVA) in Thomastown to get a cheap towbar installed. The cheaper it was the better it was as far as I was concerned. After all, we were about to go on holiday and I wanted to use my spending money there. Luckily for me, the guys at AVA were professional enough to talk me out of using price as a means of discriminating when choosing a towbar.

They were actually pretty good about it. What they did was show me the nominal cost increments between cheap and expensive towbars. They pointed out that this piece of equipment was all that was protecting whatever it was I was towing. In my case, obviously I wanted to tow the caravan on the trip we were taking. But I also intended buying some bike racks as my wife loves triathlon. Bike racks would be really helpful on those early morning trips into the hills for a training session.

Having compiled my list, we discussed the cost of the items we were going to tow. Our bikes (two of them) are worth about $6,000 all up. Mine isn’t all that valuable, but my wife, boy she spent a mint on hers. Such is her love for the triathlon.

I had no idea how much caravans cost to buy so I had to look it up. Boy they are expensive. The cheapest I could find was $5000 and I have to say, it was pretty ordinary. I found many nice ones well in excess of $100,000. That’s a crazy lot of money to trust to a cheap towbar.

I really valued the advice I was given on this day. It completely changed my perspective in what I was buying when shopping for a towbar. It changed my mind regarding what I was looking for. Instead of shopping for price, I was shopping for quality, reliability, robustness and efficiency. Yes, that’s right, efficiency. Different towbars actually make you vehicle perform differently too.

Having a better idea of what I was looking for made the product choice a little bit easier. For example, did you know that Hayman Reece are the only towbar that comes with a lifetime warranty anywhere in Australia. Personally I think this speaks volumes for the quality of their products. They are clearly the only brand which fully trusts their own product. The great thing about Hayman Reece towbars too ,are the accessories you can get with them. They have accessories which make their towbars safer and work better with your vehicle.

To start with, they have a Weight Distribution Hitch which will take the extra money you spent on the towbar and hitch, and put it right back into your pocket with fuel savings. That’s right, it makes the trailer work better with your vehicle. It does this by reducing the ball weight on the towbar and therefore drag. Less drag means your vehicle drives easier, giving it better efficiency and a lower consumption of fuel. Sometimes you just need to spend a bit to save.

They also sell this cool gadget called Sway Control. It basically keeps whatever you are pulling on the straight and narrow, despite high winds, trucks coming the other way etc. Have you ever seen those retired people who are pulling a caravan behind them when a truck drives past the other way. Have you ever seen how much their caravan swerves all over the road when this happens due to the blast of air. The sway control stops this happening to you, making for a safer and once again, more efficient trip. This is very important to me given my family will be sitting next to me in the Jeep.

Its good when you go to an auto store and the professionals there actually give you advice, help you get past your preconceived ideas and make a better decision. I’m certainly glad the guys at AVA helped me see sense when it came to my towbar.

Damian Papworth realises the cost of quality towbars and bike racks are mimimal compared to the goods they are carrying.
